In my
project Play of Life, I explore playfulness with adults. To what extent do we
feel called to connect with it? I invite different people in front of my camera
and let them make their own fort.
What emerges in this process?
By taking building a fort as the starting point,
there is a stable element of research present in the project. While building a fort,
the process reveals the inner world and a piece of identity of the people I
follow.
As an artist I am in a facilitating role, there is space to be seen
what emerges during this process of play. Therefore, it is no longer about
building the forts, but what this process of play reveals. I observe friction,
connection, safety, desires, identities, political perspectives, playful
discovery, humor, and similarities and contrasts among the participants. Our humanness
connects.
